Veterinarian
Growing up on a farm in rural South Dakota, Dr. Rachael Johnson spent countless hours working with the family cattle and caring for farm cats and dogs. Once at South Dakota State University, she chose the path of veterinary medicine for her bachelor’s degree and moved on to Kansas State University to obtain her DVM degree. She started her career as a mixed animal veterinarian in Iowa, creating countless stories of the farms she worked with and the characters she met. Always up for a challenge, in 2011 Dr. Johnson and her husband, Dr. Kyle Anderson, purchased Crosslake Veterinary Hospital. They have devoted their time to growing Crosslake Vet from a single doctor practice to a multi-doctor full-service facility working to meet nearly every patient’s need. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Anderson have three children, a mixed breed dog named Asher, and a spirited old kitty named Poppy who keep their house full.
